cristina prandi | la morra, Piedmont
Cristina Prandi is restoring a historic Barolo name with discipline, focus, and a clear sense of continuity. The Prandi family’s winemaking history dates back to 1864, when her great-grandfather Teobaldo founded the family cantina in the heart of Barolo. For generations the estate was passed down intact, but for more than thirty years no wines were bottled under the Prandi name and the domaine disappeared from the market.
In 2015 Cristina began working alongside her uncle Giuseppe, learning the craft at source. In 2019, at just 20 years old, she relaunched the family label and brought the Prandi name back into production. Following Giuseppe’s death in 2021, Cristina assumed full control of the estate and has since set a long-term direction rooted firmly in tradition and precision.
Today she farms just two hectares of vineyards in Paiagallo and La Morra, two of the most respected zones in Barolo, with vines ranging from 40 to 60 years old. Her approach in the cellar is resolutely classical. Nebbiolo ferments and macerates in cement, then ages in large oak and steel, preserving structure, freshness, and site expression. A new cellar in La Morra, due for completion in 2025, marks the next chapter in the estate’s revival.
Cristina Prandi’s Barolo is transparent, serious, and built to age. It is the careful reawakening of a historic name, handled with intent, restraint, and credibility. We’re thrilled to be working together.
